For this year’s Australia Day, MINISO has decided to celebrate it in a special and meaningful way by launching the “Donate Love to Our Children” campaign. From the sales of its MINISO X Sesame Street series between 26 Jan and 21 Feb, MINISO will donate 10% to Variety – the Children’s Charity to support children across Australia.

According to the 2020 Poverty in Australia Overview published by the Australian Council of Social Service and the University of New South Wales, 774,000 children throughout the country grow up impoverished. In other words, one in six children live below the poverty line, lacking education, health care and even shelter. In the meantime, 7.5% or about 330,000 children aged 0 to 14 live with a disability, 180,000 out of whom are severe. To some extent, disability creates an additional barrier to accessing education. Moreover, around 40% of children aged 0 to 14 live with a form of the disease – the largest being asthma and allergies – while 5.7% live with psychological development problems and 12% have vision issues.

The statistics are so impressive and astounding that the great barriers children are facing cannot be neglected. “MINISO Australia is always committed to sharing love and happiness with Australian households. Therefore, we hope to do our part to support Australian children in need.” said Samson Su, Marketing Manager of MINISO Australia and New Zealand.

Last September, MINISO introduced to Australia its collaborated series with Sesame Street, the world-renowned children’s television show from which many people learn the alphabet, numbers, and so much other fundamental knowledge. Inspired by its mission of helping kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder, MINISO Australia decides to organise this love donation campaign for Australian children.

Samson further added, “2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. Through this love donation, we hope to play an instrumental role in giving back to society and spreading positivity. Furthermore, we strive to bring hope to our children and help them grow up healthy, both physically and mentally.”
